A M.E.D. Board (Motorsports Extrication Device) is a specialized spinal motion restriction and extraction tool designed specifically to remove injured race car drivers from tight, contoured carbon-fiber containment seats. Unlike standard pre-hospital backboards or a traditional Kendrick Extrication Device (K.E.D.) built for passenger cars, the M.E.D. Board is contoured to slide into narrow racing cockpits behind a driver.
